Wreck/Cavern Diver Training Information

  • The IANTD Wreck &/or Cavern Diver Program is designed to introduce Wreck & Cavern diving skills within the limits of light penetration up to the maximum recreational depth of 39m. A key element of the program is to ensure that divers are aware of the importance of self-reliance and risk management in ocean Wreck or Freshwater Cavern environments.
  • To participate in the IANTD Wreck or Cavern Diver programs divers first need to be qualified as an IANTD Advanced Open Water Diver, have logged a minimum of 10 logged dives and are a minimum of 18 years of age without guardian approval.
  • During all training students are instructed in the necessity of a continuous guideline that allows for a safe exit to the point of entry at all times. Divers will be During the IANTD Wreck & Cavern Diver programs divers complete 4 – 6 dives. During these dives at least 90 mins of your bottom time will be spent within the Wreck or Cavern environment.
  • The IANTD Wreck & Cavern Diver programs will provide recreational divers with the necessary skills to safely dive in either the Wreck or Cavern environment.
